After earning a medical degree, Dr. Bushay completed his residency in family medicine at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. He then served four years as a physician in the Air Force at Langley Air Force Base, including a tour in Saudi Arabia from late 2001 to early 2002. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the New Jersey Chapter of American Academy of Family Physicians. He has served as an urgent care physician with AtlantiCare Physician Group Urgent Care in Egg Harbor Township since 2005.

Dr. Bushay’s practice philosophy involves caring for each patient as an individual person with unique problems and needs. He has special interest in adolescent medicine – caring for patients often caught between pediatricians and “adult” doctors. His other interests include the care and medical management of people with asthma and diabetes.

She is specially skilled in developing, implementing and managing healthcare programs in nursing facilities and in the community. In addition to her professional practice, Ms. Ablett serves as an adjunct professor of nursing at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

She earned her MSN (master of science in nursing) and BSN (bachelor of science in nursing) degrees from Richard Stockton College. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the New Jersey State Nurses Association, and she is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

 

James Q. Atkinson III, MD, FACP

James Q. Atkinson III, MD, FACP, earned a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School, and completed a residency in internal medicine at Cooper Hospital, where he served as chief medical resident.

Board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics, Dr. Atkinson followed his ancestors, James Q. Atkinson I and II, into primary care in 1982. He was honored to serve as the Burlington County Medical Society president and as Medical Society of New Jersey delegate, where he helped initiate laws protecting patients and doctors from HMOs and protecting children on bikes with helmets.

Dr. Atkinson has maintained his AMA certification of continuing medical education from 1982 with “commendation” (extra credit) in 2012. He was honored by his peers as “Top Doc” in South Jersey three times in the last 10 years, and he was elected a fellow in the American College of Physicians in 2007.

In his free time, Dr. Atkinson, enjoys boating and taught the Basic Boating Coarse for the United States Power Squadrons.

A board-certified specialist in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, Dr. Chaikin has a specific interest in the treatment of chronic disease conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, and chronic obstruction pulmonary disease (COPD).

He is proudly ranked by his peers and patients among the region’s “Top Doctors” in Philadelphia Magazine, New Jersey Monthly magazine, and U.S. News & World Report. He also is the recipient of numerous local honors for community service and volunteerism.

Claude L. Delaverdac, DO, FACP, is a board-certified primary care physician. In addition to his extensive experience as a general internist, Dr. Delaverdac specializes in non-invasive cardiology. His areas of expertise include overseeing and interpreting exercise stress tests, echocardiograms and other medical tests to detect problems in the heart, heart valves or blood vessels.

Throughout his distinguished medical career, Dr. Delaverdac has held a variety of leadership and administrative roles at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. These roles include director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program (1975-1979) and the Osteopathic Internship Program (1989-1990), chair of medicine (1992-1998), president of the Medical Staff (1998), and chair of the Medical Staff Excellence Committee (2007-present).

He graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Chicago, with Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and completed an internal medicine residency at Atlantic City Regional Medical Center, where he earned the honor of Outstanding Intern. A graduate of Temple University School of Pharmacy and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Lipshutz completed his residency at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. He is board-certified in internal medicine and has a special interest in geriatrics.

In addition to his primary care practice, Dr. Lipshutz is staff physician at several area nursing homes and serves on the Board of Trustees of Shalom House, a senior retirement facility in Ventnor. 

Dr. Lipshutz is one of a select group of physicians recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for his skill in providing the highest level of diabetes care.
